This is very strange indeed, I know my relatives are from around the Southern California area but I never would have thought there was other Sorge's out there. If any are related to the late Richard Sorge of Chula Vista, California give me a holla.

Hi! I am a Sorge from Yorkshire in the UK and I love reading your guest book and all the messages from other Sorges in the US. I was just wondering how other Sorges pronounced their surname? We pronounce it to rhyme with george. Everybody seems to really love the restaurant - hope to try and visit one day!

I can't wait to meet Mo and Beth at Sorge's and re-enact the "run around the block" in August 2003. I already am trying to decide whether to have the veal steak parm or the "combo platter"...

In September 2002, I spent a few days in Corning whilst visiting a very close friend living in Horseheads, we had a very fine dinner together one evening in your restaurant, the food and service were excellent, just one of the very happy memories that I brought home with me when I reluctantly returned to London.

I, like many others, found this site by looking up my last name "Sorge". It's too bad that your restaurant can't ship out some dinners...I'd love to try some Italian cooking from someone who shares my last name. For those that are wondering, Sorge is both a German AND an Italian last name. I don't know where it originated first though. My father, Robert Sorge, came over from Italy with his mother, Dulia, father, Innocenzo, brother, Otello, and sister, Rose back around 1924. His parents names are listed at Ellis Island. I believe they were originally from near Rome, but I haven't been able to do much else with the family tree. Since there is so much interest in the "Sorge" name and heritage, perhaps we should try combining family trees and research to see if we can find some connected roots?! I'd love to hear from fellow Sorge's.

Hi Joe! Perhaps you remember us from the 90's when we came down with the staff of the Computer Center at CCC along with Jim Dugan and the gang. Anyway, we moved to Albuquerque for retirement and miss our soup and salad days at Sorges. In any case we would like to make strawberry soup for our Church Home Fellowship Group next Sunday, and naturally wondered if we could get the recipe for the famous Sorges Strawberry soup from you. We promiser not to pass it along, nor use it for any commercial purpose - other that the recommend Sorges to anyone traveling through Corning. I any case, Hi, and we wish you the very best always!

on a short weekend get-away from the buffalo area, we decided to visit corning ny. we stopped at the glass factory/info ctr and found a copy of your menu. Since we were staying at the radisson and it was good friday and we needed something meatless to eat, your menu headed us in the direction of your restaurant. we were very excited about all of the food we ate and the atmosphere was wonderful. thank you for a wonderful dining experience. we'll be back next time we're in town.
